HomeTerms of Service

Last updated: 13 September 2026.

Anyone who visits, browses, uses or submits information through drainsunblocking.co.uk, the website operated for Drain Unblocking, is covered by these terms. You accept them by using the site, by sending us an enquiry or by asking us to introduce you to a supplier.

1. What drainsunblocking.co.uk is for and who is behind it

This website is operated by Drain Unblocking. Our contact address is Suite 114b Business First, Davyfield Road, Blackburn, Lancashire BB1 2QY.

The site itself offers general service information, routes for getting in touch and enquiry forms. We may review what you send and pass your enquiry on to a third-party contractor, service provider or supplier that we believe may suit the work you describe.

2. Emergency and out-of-hours drain enquiries

Normal opening hours are Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 5:30pm. Outside them, we may still be available for emergency work if a suitable supplier is in a position to respond. Even an emergency enquiry carries no guarantee of immediate attendance. Until a supplier responds, you should take whatever safety, environmental and site-control steps are appropriate.

3. What we cannot promise about suppliers

We cannot guarantee that a supplier will be available or will accept the job, that the price it quotes will meet your expectations, or that the job can be completed within a particular timescale. Introductions are based on whatever information is available at the time.

The details you provide may be used to decide which supplier appears to fit the job well. Being chosen is no guarantee that the supplier is the cheapest, the only suitable one or the best for every circumstance, and you remain the one who decides whether to instruct it.

4. Information you must give

Anything you tell us or a supplier must be accurate, complete and up to date, including:

  • how the drains are laid out
  • the address of the site and any limits on access
  • hazards, known contamination and any concerns about confined spaces
  • what the waste is and how much of it there is
  • constraints on height or lifting
  • deadlines that affect the work
  • photographs

You must not submit anything that is:

  • unlawful, abusive, misleading or false
  • confidential information belonging to a third party, unless you have authority to share it
  • information you have no permission to share

You must also not interfere with the operation of the website, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any systems, data or supplier information.

5. Drain jobs, site access and safety details

After an introduction, the supplier will need information from you to assess health and safety, environmental risk, site access and the scope of the job, and you must provide it. For a drain job that may include:

  • plans of the drainage or tank
  • photographs
  • findings from earlier surveys
  • where to park
  • inductions and any rules particular to the site
  • permit information
  • waste codes
  • Safety Data Sheets

A supplier may refuse to proceed where there is a safety concern, where documentation it requires is missing, where the work is outside its competence, insurance or permissions, or where the site turns out to be different from the information provided.

6. Our role, and why it costs you nothing

Drain Unblocking acts as a connector. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, we do not:

  • transport waste
  • operate plant or equipment
  • attend site as the appointed contractor
  • carry out the physical work
  • provide regulated drainage, cleaning, disposal, tank, silo or industrial services ourselves through this website

Sending an enquiry through this website, and being introduced to a supplier, comes at no cost to you as the customer. We may be paid commission by suppliers or third-party companies, and may also receive referral income, marketing fees or sales income from them. None of this adds a fee for using the website.

7. The supplier, its quotation and its contract with you

Whichever supplier is appointed for the work is responsible for:

  • staff, vehicles and equipment
  • licences and permits
  • insurance, risk assessments and method statements
  • its own advice and quotations
  • consignment documentation and waste transfer documentation
  • site attendance and the quality of what it does
  • aftercare

Before instructing a supplier, you should check its terms and credentials.

Unless we expressly state otherwise in writing, a booking, call-out, estimate, quotation, order, site visit, supply contract or service contract is made between you and the supplier. Before any work is authorised, you must read the supplier’s own terms and agree them.

Decisions on minimum charges, prices, cancellation terms, attendance windows, emergency call-out arrangements, disposal routes, waste charges, permit requirements and additional work all sit with the appointed supplier. If the scope changes once a supplier has reviewed the site, it may revise the quote it gave or turn the job down.

8. Independent suppliers and the limits of our liability

Every third-party supplier is an independent business, not an employee of Drain Unblocking. Unless the law says we cannot exclude that responsibility, we are not responsible for a supplier’s waste handling, work quality, pricing, advice, delays, acts, omissions, damage, loss, documentation, staff conduct or regulatory compliance.

We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so. That covers liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Subject to that, our role goes no further than operating the website and, where appropriate, making introductions.

Claims, costs, damage, delays, losses or disputes between you and a third-party supplier that arise after an introduction are not our legal responsibility. This applies too where they concern the supplier’s service quality, payment terms, contract terms, attendance, advice or work.

Should something go wrong once you have instructed a supplier, raise it with them promptly and directly. It is for the supplier to look into and resolve any issue connected with its attendance, work, aftercare or quotation.

9. Website content and availability

Pages on this website contain general service information only. None of it is regulatory, tax, insurance, waste-classification, engineering, legal, environmental or health and safety advice, so where the job needs it you should obtain advice from the appointed supplier or a competent professional.

Although we try to keep the content clear and useful, we do not promise that each page is current, complete or suitable for every site. Operational requirements, supplier availability, guidance and laws may change.

We may change, withdraw, suspend or update any part of the website at any time. There is no guarantee that the website, its enquiry forms, email routes, telephone lines or supplier-matching process will always be available, or that they will run without interruption.

10. Your enquiry details

Information in your enquiry may be used to respond to you and to introduce the enquiry to a suitable supplier. For more on personal information, see the Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy linked from this website.

11. Intellectual property

Logos, branding, text, page layouts, design and other website materials belong to, or are licensed to, the relevant rights holder. You may view pages and print them for your own internal decision-making. Without permission, you must not reuse, sell, republish, scrape or copy substantial parts of the website.

12. When these terms change

From time to time we may update these terms. The version published on this page at the time you use the website is the one that applies, and continuing to use the website once changes have been published means you accept the updated version.

13. Governing law

These terms are subject to the laws of England and Wales. Jurisdiction lies with the courts of England and Wales unless consumer protection law gives you a mandatory right to use another court.

14. Questions

Questions about this website or about these terms can be raised through the contact details on the Contact page. If the question is about work done by a supplier, contact that supplier first, since it is the supplier that controls the quotation, the work and any aftercare.
